| If you want to commission me/have commissioned me: Tell me what you want but don't be too specific, say what you want and let me have a little freedom with the picture. This is a commission from me, I hope you want some of my personality coming through. If you've got a pose in mind that's just fine. Have any references? Show me. But give me references I can actually make out what they are, that have at least somewhat decent quality. Just don't start piling up details and minute things like how many tufts of fur there are here, and here and etc.... Get all your complaints out of the way right away, when it's still a sketch when things are easier to fix. Inks and colors should be free of heavy fixes and any huge changes. It's a pain to change an inked line. If you get me to draw what I usually like drawing you'll be much happier with the end result. Take a look at my gallery if you don't know what I normally draw. Don't be afraid to contact me about anything though. Every artist is different. Period. Some work better with structured guidelines. Some just want the damn money with as little hassle as possible. Try to get a feel for if there seems to be some tension between you and me to help the process go smoother. A happy Felix makes a better picture. I am employed by you, but I am not a lackey. The less grief you give me, the better the piece will turn out. In most cases, I don't know you and visa-versa. Please try to keep everything within my comfort zone, from conversation to the actual picture. If you are unhappy with the work I produce for you please tell me in a professional manner, don't go, "WTF this is bullshit!" and throw knives at me. That ain't cool. Both of us (as commissioner and the commissioned) have to work together and compromise to get the best result for said peice. For those of you who have commissioned me, and don't want me to post the product, tell me. If I'm not told that you don't want it posted, I'll post it by default. I like the public to see what I can do with they're commissions, and what I've done with them in the past. Also! If you want the original piece sent to you vai mail, tell me and give me a place to send it to and it shall be done. If you want me to send a digital picture to you, It'll cost $5 more for the ink and additional paper used. but mostly the ink. I will sign it (with my nifty art signature) and send it your way once payment is recieved. |
